Do you know that’s your domain name can become an asset? You can sell it to get a big buck. Some of my friend are use buy and sell domain as one of his source income. Believe it or not, some of domain can reach ‘thousand dollars’ and if you have lucky enough (I’m not lucky) you can become next millionaire.

The money don’t come easily, there’s a lot of effort to do. This is some tips I’ve get from my friends.

1. Your domain must short and easy to remember. Long domain name cannot attract buyer. Buyer will .COM rather than other [dot] but others [dot] also useful depend on the keyword. You can find great domains at DNS Research. Avoid buy a business name or trademark that own by others (eg, McD, Pepsi, Madonna, etc). You can be suing in court if you buy the trademark name. It is called “cyber-squatting”.
2. Sometimes buyer need to know about the domain popularity. A domain without any traffic is can’t attract buyer. More popular your domain means more dollar for you.
3. Sell it in package with the website/blog. Most buyer want the website/blog that already establish.
4. You must know the reason you choose to sell the domain. Don’t just sell your domain without calculate the profit you get. For example, if you get US 1,000 from the site per month, than set minimum price for the domain. Set the price minimum 10 months from your site income.
5. Never use symbol in your domain. It is not friendly with SEO and can’t attract buyer.
6. To transfer your domain name to buyer is easy. Just contact your domain registrar and let them transferring ownership to buyer.
